‘Filling Time’ - Acrylic On Canvas 120cm x 80cm

Colour has many different psychological, cultural, and symbolic meanings.

For me colour brings profound calmness.

My paintings are the result of hours of editing.

Adding and taking away colour.

These initial actions happen quickly at first with large washes of pigment.

Compositions are built up by adding layer upon layer of thin coats of paint.

When the final composition has revealed itself, smaller touches of detail are added to tie the piece together until I feel it is finished.

The painting is then completed in a pine wood floating tray frame. Handmade by me.
