Commissioned pieces are very different to my day to day art practice.
They allow me to work with art lovers to create something that is very special to them.
The process starts with clients showing me examples of work I have created in the past that have resonated with them. I then use those selected examples as inspiration to create their own completely original piece.

It is a collaborative process that involves many aspects.
First the size of the piece is decided to best suit the space where the painting will hang.
Then we build a brief for me to work from for the subject matter of the painting. Sometimes I am given complete freedom to create what I want and sometimes I translate the figurative ideas given to me into colour.
